Market Resarch
Through the Commercializing Emerging Technologies (COMET) program,
the Australian Government funded a preliminary Business Plan and
Market Research Report on commercial opportunities in the wood-chipper
sector, in Australia and the U.S.A.
In the four-year period to 2008, INDSAFE could conservatively achieve
total gross revenues in excess of AU$40 Million in the wood-chipper
retrofit market alone … in the U.S.A. and Australia.
In an overlapping series of R & D projects, we see a growing
range of MACHINE GUARDING, SAFETY MONITORING AND MATERIAL PROCESSING
SYSTEMS covering many possible applications in the industrial and
agricultural fields, as outlined previously.
Uptake in all industrial sectors will be driven by:
- The risk of litigation
to ALL concerned parties following an industrial accident/fatality.
- Pressure
from Insurance interests.
- Pressure from Trade Unions.
- Pressure from Workplace Health & Safety
Authorities.
- Risk to business viability following any serious
industrial incident.
- Social pressures.
- Desire for improved business productivity and
workplace morale.
- Competition between Manufacturers.
The development of a new technology that is available both in retrofit
form and incorporated in new machinery, places the onus on manufacturers, distributors
and employers with regard to both risk of litigation (through continued
use of inherently unsafe plant and equipment) and workplace viability.
The options regarding fund raising, equity
splits, licensing and trade sales etc are being examined closely
at the moment … and
professional advice on best practice is being sought.
The current shareholders of PEMACO Pty Ltd., the company holding
the intellectual property, have open minds regarding all possible
future alternatives.
